A dark and cramped extension was nixed in favour of opening up the original cottage into a self-contained studio, letting warmth and light into the space. The idea was to create a space with lots of balance and depth with a very small square footage, the kind of home that looked lived-in and loved. “You want someone to walk into your home and be able to visually unfold these layers,” says Jenna.
